François Mauguière, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Neurology at the Claude Bernard Université de Lyon, is Head of Department and hospital practitioner at Pierre Wertheimer Neurological Hospital in Lyon. He treats patients with neurological disorders, in particular those suffering from treatment-resistant epilepsy that may be managed with neurosurgery.

Prof Mauguière dedicated his scientific research activity to the physiology of sensory systems, cerebral lesion-related disabilities and mechanisms of pain and epilepsy.

He authored over 300 publications in international scientific magazines and books. In 2008, he received the Pierre Gloor award from the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society for his work on epilepsy.

François Mauguière directed the positron-emitting tomograph (PET) Medical Center (the “Cermep”) from 1988 to 1993 and the Lyon Neuroscience Federation Institute from 1998 to 2006.

He was Dean of the medicine faculty of Lyon Nord from 1999 to 2006. He is currently President of the Scientific Committee of the French Foundation for Epilepsy Research, a member of the scientific committee of the Brain Research Foundation and he is Director of Neurodis.

Claire Rigaud-Bully completed postgraduate studies in Law, Business and Economics and entered the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in 1984 as a social sciences engineer in the Health System Analysis Laboratory.
In 2005 she focused her professional career on the administration of research and became administrative manager of the Lyon Neuroscience Federation Institute. Following the labelling of the Neurodis Thematic Research and Care Network (CTRS) in January 2007, Claire Rigaud-Bully was nominated as General Secretary of the Neurodis Foundation.

Isabelle Rondy completed a master’s degree in English and a postgraduate certificate in Health Science International Communication. She started her professional career in the field of clinical trials and joined the Neurodis Foundation in October 2008 to reinforce the administrative team.
